Talia Caves and Elliston

Headed back to the coast next, west coast of the Eyre Peninsula this time. On our way to Elliston we stopped at Talia Caves, which are amazing rock formations along the coast, caused by the pounding waves over thousands of years. The Tub was a huge hole created from only a small opening to the sea, with the ceiling eventually collapsing. the Woolshed was a large crater in the rocky cliffs, with crevices all throughout. It was incredibly impressive. Also made you realise how powerful the sea is.
Elliston was a lovely coastal town, reminded us of the smaller Great Ocean road towns. The playground was a hit and we spent a few hours there. Afterwards we did the coastal drive to see some sculptures, they have a biannual clifftop sculpture fest but some remain as permanent structures. We got our culture whilst taking in the spectacular views, it was a fantastic day. Camped near Elliston at Walkers Rocks, $10 a night to camp behind the sand dunes! Only thing that would have made it better was warmer weather and a campfire.

Elliston Park (yes that is Daniel trying for a nap in the sun!)

Better stay on the road!

Looking into The Woolshed Cave

Millions of years of strong waves carved impressive features in the rocks.
