Fear and trepidation at 14,000 feet

Well we finally managed to book in my sky dive (Daniel's 30th birthday present to me, every time I have gone to do it the weather has not been favourable). Kalbarri coastline was a fabulous place to jump, amazing view (breathtaking - literally).
After flying up in the tiniest plane ever, I had my back on the pilots back and my feet nearly touched the end of the plane, we reached 14,000 feet, ready for my 60 second freefall jump. I listened so carefully to the instructions then, whoosh - the door of the plane was thrown open and I had to manoeuvre myself into position. Not an easy feat when you are strapped to another person, the wind is gushing furiously into your face and your brain is saying 'what the #*+? are you doing?' Well I managed and suddenly we were falling, it was the most exhilarating, thrilling and bloody scary thing I have ever done. You literally had to concentrate on breathing as the air was rushing so fast in your face it was hard to get a proper breath. Once we were away and I got to stretch my arms out it was incredible, such a rush. The parachuting afterwards was just as amazing, though slightly less anxiety producing. After a 5 minute parachute and many turns and twists to view the coastline at different angles, we landed gracefully on the beach. The dvd is hilarious, a slow motion section of me saying 'oh my God' as we leave the plane, the expressions that were captured are fabulous. I will try to upload it when we get better wifi.
Thanks Daniel for an extraordinary 30th birthday present, well worth the 7 year wait!
