Well we haven't even officially begun the trip and things have gone awry! After several magnificent coffees and breakfast at our favourite cafe (Corinthians in Hoppers Crossing) we left for Anglesea. Daniel and I were chatting in excitement when Jackson staring spitting. He had been munching on a black crayon while breaking the rest and tipping them around the car. Clearly the toys and activities I had meticulously packed (whilst envisioning kids happily drawing & reading as we drove) were not toddler safe! Many baby wipes, tears and confiscated crayons later we arrived in Anglesea. Set up went well and we went to explore the park. On returning (ready to relax whilst the kids played in the park next to us) I noticed water on the floor of the van. Well it wasn't just on the floor but all through the painstakingly packed cupboards and pouring down the cupboard walls. 2 and a half hours, a repaired plumbing fixture, lots of wet towels and several gin and tonics later we had our van back in order.
Lesson 1: test all new plumbing fittings under pressure!
