Plumbing and crayons!

Well we haven't even officially begun the trip and things have gone awry! After several magnificent coffees and breakfast at our favourite cafe (Corinthians in Hoppers Crossing) we left for Anglesea. Daniel and I were chatting in excitement when Jackson staring spitting. He had been munching on a black crayon while breaking the rest and tipping them around the car. Clearly the toys and activities I had meticulously packed (whilst envisioning kids happily drawing & reading as we drove) were not toddler safe! Many baby wipes, tears and confiscated crayons later we arrived in Anglesea. Set up went well and we went to explore the park. On returning (ready to relax whilst the kids played in the park next to us) I noticed water on the floor of the van. Well it wasn't just on the floor but all through the painstakingly packed cupboards and pouring down the cupboard walls. 2 and a half hours, a repaired plumbing fixture, lots of wet towels and several gin and tonics later we had our van back in order.
Lesson 1: test all new plumbing fittings under pressure!

Our New Home

Our Home! 9 days to go until our official leaving date (1st Feb) and our home is nearly packed. Leaving Bundalong on Sunday so only 3 more days to squeeze our stuff in (haven't started my clothes yet but the wardrobe is going to have to be VERY limited (one shelf in a camp cupboard each ). Even Emilia's barbies are apparently excited about the trip!
Moving into the campervan tomorrow. Kids are already sleeping on campervan mattress together and loving waking up together, lots of cuddles, very cute.

Name Change

Ok after much deliberation (and after we nearly burnt Lisa's cake!) we have decided to rename our blog, hope you like the new name.
First night for the kids in the same bed, in preparation for the campervan. Fingers crossed for some sleep.

4 Jan 2015

The 4 week countdown and I thought I should get this blog organised. Recovered from Christmas and New Years so no more excuses! Let's hope it works.
Dreaming of our trip.
